Yeah, Apple changed it.
Don't get it? Well, Some users thought that the new battery icon in iOS 16 was a bit annoying, so Apple changed it on iOS 16.1.
So basically this thing started back in 2017 when Apple launched the iPhone X, introducing the notch. The notch however could not give any space for the battery indicator in the top right corner.
So Apple finally brought it back to iOS 16, but the number was inside the battery icon, and it visually showed it was always full. This caused chaos because there was a huge misconception about how much more juice they had.
So Apple decided to actually show the true percentage of juice the phone has visually, and that was a massive change according to some individuals.
